Todd Archer's Cowboys report card

| RUN OFFENSE |
| F | Tony Romo was the Cowboys' leading rusher with 42 yards. Julius Jones had little chance as the Eagles' front seven dominated the Cowboys' offensive line. This was by far the worst showing by the line since Romo took over at quarterback. Marion Barber got stuffed from the Eagles' 1-yard line on a critical fourth down. |
| PASS OFFENSE |
| F | Romo was sacked three times and hit much more than that. He had to move around more than in any other game. Romo's 45.5 rating marked the third time in the last four games he has had a rating less than 60. Terrell Owens had a big drop on a deep ball in the opening drive of the second half. Terry Glenn had just one catch. |
| RUN DEFENSE |
| F | Andy Reid likes to throw the ball, but the Eagles pounded Dallas into submission Monday. The Cowboys allowed a season-high 204 yards rushing on 42 carries and saw Brian Westbrook run for 122 yards, the most they allowed to a single rusher this season. The Cowboys did a poor job filling in cracks at the line. |
| PASS DEFENSE |
| F | Anthony Henry had his second interception of the season, and DeMarcus Ware had a sack and forced a fumble. Donte Stallworth had a 35-yard catch. L.J. Smith had a 65-yarder. Matt Schobel had a 25-yarder for a touchdown. Even when the Cowboys blitzed, they could not rattle Jeff Garcia. |
| SPECIAL TEAMS |
| F | This is mostly a guilt-by-association grade, but Miles Austin's fumbled return in the first quarter was the only big play Philadelphia did not convert. Austin averaged 22.8 yards per kick return, and Terence Newman nearly broke a punt return but was tripped up by the last tackler. Mat McBriar had a 39-yard net average. |
| COACHING |
| F | The Cowboys did not win any phase of the game. They were held to a season-low seven points and, defensively, had no answer for the Eagles. Parcells tried to gain some momentum by going for it on fourth down from the Eagles' 1, but Marion Barber was stoned. The energy was sapped from the team from that moment. |
| OVERALL |
| F | So much on the line and, as Bill Parcells put it, a non-competitive effort. The offense had season lows in yards (201) and points (7), and quarterback Tony Romo had a season-low 45.5 passer rating. The defense could not get off the field and allowed three scoring drives of 12 plays or more. Philadelphia held the ball for 37:06. For a team that considers itself a contender in the NFC, the output was not up to snuff. |
