1 | Romo avoids rush, completes pass
The situation: Fourth-and-2 at Eagles' 24
The play: With the ball snapped with one second on the play clock, Tony Romo eludes a charging Juqua Thomas. Romo, with defensive end Trent Cole wrapped around him, completes a pass to Patrick Crayton for 17 yards with 33 seconds left in the first quarter. It puts the Cowboys deep in Philadelphia territory and sets up their first real scoring chance of the game. |
2 | Barber is shut down
The situation: Fourth-and-goal at Eagles' 1
The play: Marion Barber gets a pitch and runs to the right side. Oliver Hoyte runs right by a blitzing Quintin Mikell. Barber has no chance and is tackled for a three-yard loss with 12:52 to play in the first quarter. The Eagles turn the momentum building the play into a 12-play drive and get a field goal to take a 10-0 lead. |
3 | Garcia gets Eagles in field goal range
The situation: Third-and-6 at Cowboys' 43
The play: With Terrell Owens playing deep safety, anticipating a Hail Mary Pass, the Eagles decided to throw underneath. Jeff Garcia finds Greg Lewis for a 16-yard pass play with two seconds remaining in the first half. The completion sets up a 45-yard field goal attempt from David Akers, who made it to give the Eagles a 13-7 lead at halftime. |
4 | Owens' drop costs team first down
The situation: Third-and-19 at Cowboys' 29
The play: Tony Romo throws deep down the sideline to Terrell Owens. The ball goes through Owens' arms and lands incomplete at the Eagles' 30 with 9:28 to play in the third quarter. The Cowboys are forced to punt. |
5 | Garcia scrambles for first down
The situation: Third-and-1 at Cowboys' 30
The play: From play action, Jeff Garcia rolls right but then goes left when he sees a seam. Garcia scrambles for 12 yards before DeMarcus Ware tackles him with 8:57 left in the game. The first down play leads to a Eagles touchdown and puts the game out of reach, 23-7. |
