If Dallas and No. 6 New Orleans both win out, the Saints would get a first-round bye and the Cowboys play in the opening round. The two teams share the second-best record in the NFC at 9-5, but New Orleans holds the tiebreaker on the strength of its victory over Dallas in the head-to-head meeting.
If the Cowboys win out, they would need the Saints to lose to the New York Giants or the Carolina Panthers for that first-round bye.
