Aug. 12: Misses preseason opener against Seattle; owner Jerry Jones says Owens needs to learn to practice at 75-80 percent.

Sept. 17: Suffers a broken right hand in a Week 2 victory over Washington. He catches three passes for 19 yards and has surgery Sept. 18.
Sept. 26: His publicist calls 911 when he is unresponsive after taking a painkiller and supplements. He is hospitalized. An initial report by the Dallas Police indicates that Owens said, "Yes" when asked if he had attempted to harm himself.
Sept. 27: At a news conference at Valley Ranch, he denies being depressed and says that he had a reaction to the painkiller and supplements and did not attempt to commit suicide.
Oct. 8: In his first game against the Eagles, his former team, he finishes with three catches for 45 yards and no touchdowns. He yells at passing game coordinator Todd Haley on the sidelines during the game.
Oct. 15: Scores three touchdowns in a blowout victory against Houston.
Oct. 23: Following the Giants game, receiver Plaxico Burress calls Owens a "coward" for slipping and falling down while running a route. Burress contends Owens was trying to avoid a hit.
Oct. 27: In response on his weekly radio show, Owens says Burress couldn't carry "my jockstrap."
Nov. 5: He blames himself for the loss to Washington after he dropped a potential touchdown pass.
Nov. 8: Owens promises he'll have a better second half to the season and blames himself again for losing the Washington game.
Nov. 12: After the Arizona game, he gets into a heated discussion with Haley in the locker room. Owens tells Haley to leave him alone.
Dec. 10: Owens does an ESPN interview with Michael Irvin and says he's disappointed Bill Parcells didn't reach out to him concerning his accidental overdose. He also said it's hard to motivate himself when he's on the field because he thinks players and coaches are snitching on him.
Dec. 13: Owens says he would like to finish his career with the Cowboys and that his frustration level has subsided. He also said his relationship with Haley has improved.
Dec. 16: He spits into the face of Atlanta cornerback DeAngelo Hall's face in the first quarter. After the game, Owens apologizes and said it was an accident. Owens also says he needs surgery on the ring finger of his right hand to repair a torn tendon. He'll have it at the end of the season.
Dec. 18: At a morning visit to children in the hospital, Owens said he didn't think he would get fined for the spitting incicedent in Atlanta. That afternoon, Owens is fined $35,000 by the NFL for spitting.
