Cowboys-Falcons: The bottom line

10:31 PM CST on Friday, December 15, 2006

By TODD ARCHER / The Dallas Morning News

The Cowboys will win if ...

Tony Romo has to be the Tony Romo of his first six starts, not the one who struggled vs. New Orleans. The Falcons are allowing 234.5 yards through the air, and opposing QBs are completing 61.4 percent of their passes. The Cowboys can spread the Atlanta defense with WRs Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn and TE Jason Witten, which could help RB Julius Jones find holes.

The Falcons will win if ...

Michael Vick has to be the top-of-the-game Michael Vick and not the Vick who misfires on passes. He is the most electrifying player in the game and can change the outcome with his feet. With RBs Warrick Dunn and Jerious Norwood banged up, more will be on Vick's shoulders to carry the load. Defensively, the Falcons have to get after Romo. They have 17 sacks in six home games this season.
