For the last 11 seasons, Kiffin has been the architect of one of the best defenses in the NFL. Last year, the Bucs finished as the top-ranked defense, but this season they are a surprising 21st, allowing 331.2 yards per game.
With defensive end Simeon Rice out for the season with a shoulder injury, the Bucs do not get to the passer as often as they did. But eight starters return from last year's defense, including linebacker Derrick Brooks and cornerback Ronde Barber.
Kiffin has perfected the Cover-2 scheme, forcing teams to give up on throwing the ball down the field. He also has a history of frustrating inexperienced quarterbacks. Last week, Washington's Jason Campbell completed 19 of 34 passes for 196 yards and was sacked twice.
Having faced a similar Cover-2 scheme Sunday against Indianapolis should help Romo. He did a nice job of taking what the defense gave him and did not force throws into tight spots. He will have to do the same today for the Cowboys to win.
Edge: Based on experience, Kiffin
