The play: After talking about it during a timeout, Arizona goes with a little trickery to get the first down. A fake handoff to the fullback and a pitch to Edgerrin James catches the Cowboys off guard. James runs left end for 12 yards to keep the drive alive with five minutes left in the first half. |
2 | Romo unfazed by pressure
The situation: Third and nine at Dallas 21
The play: Arizona blitzes, and Tony Romo avoids two defenders and moves up in the pocket, finding Patrick Crayton wide open in the middle of the field. The play results in 34 yards with 1:29 left in the first half. The drive ends with a 38-yard field goal by Mike Vanderjagt with two seconds left to give the Cowboys a 13-3 halftime lead. |
3 | Pick leads to score
The situation: Second and six at Dallas 45
The play: Matt Leinart moves to his left to avoid some pressure. In the process he loses sight of his receivers and underthrows a pass to Leonard Pope. Linebacker Akin Ayodele makes the interception in the middle of the field with 5:23 left in the third. The turnover sets up a touchdown pass from Tony Romo to Terrell Owens, giving the Cowboys a commanding 17-3 lead. |
4 | Owens makes key catch
The situation: Third and six at Dallas 34
The play: Tony Romo finds Terrell Owens for a 21-yard pass that keeps a drive alive with eight minutes left in the game. Romo's completion puts Dallas at the Arizona 45 and allows the team to run the ball with Marion Barber to take more time off the clock. |
5 | Romo looks to Witten
The situation: Second and six at Arizona 35
The play: In the shotgun, Tony Romo looks toward the middle and finds Jason Witten for a 17-yard pass play with 1:32 to play in the third quarter. The completion pushes the ball to the Arizona 18, where four plays later Marion Barber scores from the 5 for a 27-3 Dallas lead. |
