Many people get credit for Tony Romo's success, including Sean Payton, Bill Parcells and David Lee. But Tony Sparano, now Miami's coach, is often left out of the conversation.
Before Thursday's game, Romo ran across the field to shake hands with Sparano, who was Dallas' play-caller in 2006 when Romo took over. Sparano helped manage the young quarterback through the final 10 games of the season.
"Tony was good to talk to," Romo said. "We'd sit down, and it was good. He's got a good mind for football and is a great coach. And you're seeing him do really good things in Miami."
