This Texas-made salsa doesn't look much like the other native salsas on supermarket shelves.

Cutter Dan's Premium Select Guacamole Green Salsa, made in Cedar Creek, is deep green rather than fiery red. It's made with roasted green tomatoes and tomatillos and tinged with avocados.

While green-tomato lovers may like the flavor for dunking chips, it would be fun to try this green salsa with queso on chicken enchiladas. The medium version has just about the right amount of heat for jazzing up an otherwise docile dish.

This all-natural product from Dan Jardine of hot-Texas-foods fame is labeled with the down-home admonition: "Store in icebox after opening."

Cutter Dan's Premium Select Guacamole Green Salsa is $5.49 for a 16-ounce jar. We found it at Market Street in Allen.
