As one who has taught in DISD for 32 years and as one of the district’s greatest cheerleaders, I am absolutely stunned by what I have just finished reading in The Dallas Morning News.
How will a teacher have the time to call every parent of approximately 150 or 160 students who do not turn in their homework and receive a zero? How will the exhausted principal be able to assess a grade for every major assignment that does not come in on time? Most of all, how and when will students learn responsibility with these lax policies?
