Re: "Return to GOP roots," by Robert Richter, Tuesday Letters. Yes, Abraham Lincoln was a great Republican president. But the Republican Party of today is not what it once was. I used to be one, until the far-right neocons took it over. I believe that things won't change until the under-educated and lower class quit voting against their own interests by voting Republican. Today, the Democratic Party is the party of liberals, moderates and conservatives. Attend a convention and see for yourself.
