"Best Buy Mobile will be a great expansion of our current distribution," said MetroPCS CEO Roger Linquist, speaking in a statement.

Metro PCS offers unlimited cellular service for $30 to $50 a month, depending on whether customers want extra features like Internet access.

The company does not subsidize its phones, but it does not require service contracts, either. All service is month-to-month.

As of June 30, 2008, MetroPCS had approximately 4.6 million subscribers.
