Younan Hospitality Group said Tuesday that it has won a lawsuit brought by Falcon Physician Reviews Inc., which led preparatory courses at its Dallas hotel to help medical students with their licensing exams.

Irving-based Falcon’s suit, filed in Dallas County District Court in 2006, claimed that Younan’s Holiday Inn Select North Dallas failed to provide certain equipment and services, and to safeguard students’ credit cards. Younan countersued for payment of contract cancellation fees.

A jury trial found that Falcon breached its contracts with Younan, awarding Younan $299,276 in damages, plus interest, and $529,994 in legal fees and expenses, according to court documents.

“We are extremely pleased that the court and a jury found Younan innocent of any wrongdoing in this frivolous case,” Zaya S. Younan, chairman of Los Angeles-based Younan Properties said in a statement. Falcon could not be reached for comment.
