East Rutherford, N.J. |
Emmitt Smith suffered a separated shoulder in the second quarter, but he gutted out this crucial battle in the freezing, wind-torn Meadowlands for the glory of the Cowboys. Smith's heroics (132 yards on 30 carries, another 61 on 10 receptions) carried Dallas to its second straight divisional title.
He crashed and battered for 41 yards in the inspirational, winning overtime drive. His 42 combined rushes and receptions set a club record.
