The basics:

club will break camp on Sunday, Aug. 21.
Facility: The Cowboys will be practicing at Oxnard's River Ridge Field, adjacent to a Residence Inn, which will serve as the team's headquarters.
History: Before returning to Oxnard last summer, the Cowboys used the facility for two weeks in 2001. Also, the Raiders used to call Oxnard home during training camp.

Following the Aug. 22 game at Seattle, the team will return to Dallas and complete workouts at Valley Ranch.
About Oxnard:
Oxnard's name comes from the family that developed one of the first industries, a sugar beet factory. Oxnard is surrounded by some of the richest agricultural land in the world. It has a variety of business parks and shopping areas and is the home of the county-operated Channel Islands Harbor, gateway to the Channel Islands National Park.
Nicknames: Also known as Sugartown, Biggest Little City of the Coast, Upcoast, Land of Everlasting Summer, Lima Bean Capital, Strawberry Capital, Gateway to the Channel Islands.
Location: Oxnard is located on the Pacific Coast in southern California. It is approximately 62 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles and 35 miles south of Santa Barbara. Oxnard is also about 1,475 miles from Valley Ranch.
Population: Oxnard is the largest city in Ventura County. The population of Oxnard as of January 1, 2002 was 182,027
Climate: The local climate is Mediterranean or dry subtropical. The average mean temperature is 61 degrees. Average minimum temperature is 52.4 degrees and the average maximum temperature is 69.6 degrees. Average rainfall is 14.75 inches.
Size: The area encompassed by the incorporated limits of the City of Oxnard is approximately 24.84 square miles.

Things to do:
Each day at training camp, there will be the Cowboys Experience, a series of interactive, inflatable-football skills games. The team's Hall of Fame truck, complete with Super Bowl trophies, will be on hand, as will a merchandise truck.
Players will be available for autographs before and after practice. Admission is free, but parking is $5. The parking lot will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on practice days.
August 13-14 (Times TBD): Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders camp. Youths between the ages of 4-17 are invited to cheer and dance with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Kids will be divided into three age groups (7-8), (9-11), and (12-17). The camp is free of charge. An autograph session with the cheerleaders will follow. Pre-registration is advised.
August 8, 1 p.m.: Punt, Pass & Kick. For boys and girls ages 8-15. Winners will have the opportunity to have lunch with the Cowboys at their training table. Pre-registration is required. For information, call (805) 385-7939.
